Why do I need the Dolphin Imaging software package with my i-CAT system?
Complementing i-CAT technology with Dolphin software creates a complete diagnostic solution for the dental practitioner. Three-dimensional images captured with your i-CAT machine can be loaded into your Dolphin software for immediate, accurate analysis and presentation of craniofacial anatomy. Volumetric case presentation and treatment analysis can then be performed using the Dolphin software. In short, combining these two technologies presents a unique opportunity for dental professionals to implement three-dimensional imaging, planning and treatment into their practice at one time.
Does it cost me anything?
Ask your i-CAT dealer to get the special Dolphin software package. Try it for 60 days at no charge! During this time, we encourage you to experiment with all the functions of your Dolphin software while enjoying the same 24/7 Dolphin technical support given to all Dolphin customers worldwide. If at the end of the 60-day trial period you decide to purchase the software, we have designed a special pricing for all i-CAT customers.
What’s included in the special Dolphin Imaging package?
Configured especially for i-CAT users, the Dolphin Imaging software package includes Dolphin 3D software.
Dolphin 3D is the central component of the Dolphin designed for CBCT and CT data. Its simple interface lets you quickly and accurately process i-CAT volume data, including: tissue segmentation, nerve mapping, accurate simulated radiographic projection, multi-color volumetric rendering and 3D animation. Also, a built-in loss-less compression feature reduces files to roughly a third of their original size, allowing for efficient storage and easy sharing over the Internet with absolutely no loss of diagnostic quality.
How will I know how to use my Dolphin software?
We design all our products with an intuitive interface that is friendly to most people familiar with using a computer. Also, a highly illustrated Dolphin 3D Quick Start Guide will be included in your system. Your i-CAT representative may also provide some brief training. If you would like additional instruction on any of the Dolphin software modules, feel free to contact Dolphin to arrange phone training or on-site training. You can reach a Dolphin representative by email us at support@dolphinimaging.info.
What if I run into technical issues?
If you are unable to determine whether you are experiencing a hardware or software problem, please first contact your i-CAT representative. If you are certain that it is a Dolphin software issue, please contact our support at support@dolphinimaging.info.
What kind of disk storage will I need for Dolphin?
Your disk storage requirements will depend on the size of the scans that you take, which is influenced by scan volume size and resolution. In addition, Dolphin 3D has a high-quality data compression feature, allowing you to store three times typically the amount of data you otherwise would be able to store without using Dolphin. In fact, additional compression rates are possible for quality “lossy” types of compression. Imagine a full volume with diagnostic quality in less than 5 MB of data!
What if I want Dolphin on other workstations?
Dolphin software displays beautifully and effortlessly over your network, allowing everyone in your office to work in different areas of the program simultaneously. Dolphin even integrates with most practice management systems on the market. While your i-CAT system is already configured to accommodate Dolphin software at no extra charge, you may purchase additional licenses by contacting Dolphin directly at info@dolphinimaging.info.
If a referral sends me volume data taken on a machine other than i-CAT, can I use Dolphin?
Yes! Dolphin 3D supports most CBCT systems on the market, in addition to spiral CT, MRI and 3D facial camera systems. Providing the data is in the standard DICOM format, your Dolphin software should be able to successfully import it.
What if I want to share my images with patients and referrals?
Dolphin makes it easy to share all image files. The compression feature built into Dolphin 3D lets you quickly send images over the Internet via AnywhereDolphin.com. You also have the capability to export images to standard file formats such as JPEG, DICOM or save them directly into your electronic Dolphin patient file.
When does the 60-day period start?
Technically, your 60-day Dolphin software trial period begins the date your software is activated. This usually happens the day your i-CAT device is installed in your office, at which time your i-CAT representative will enable your Dolphin software.
What happens after 60 days?
At the end of the 60-day trial period, you will be contacted by a Dolphin representative, who will offer the option of continuing your Dolphin user status at a special price.
